Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Autism Spectrum Disorder, or ASD, is a neurodevelopmental condition that can affect communication, social interaction, sensory processing, executive functioning, and everyday life. Because autism exists on a spectrum, it can look very different from one person to another.
In this video, I provide a brief introduction to ASD, including how autism may present differently across individuals, common areas of support, sensory differences, and the role executive functioning can play in planning, organization, task initiation, transitions, and emotional regulation.
The goal is to move beyond stereotypes and recognize that every autistic person has their own individual strengths, challenges, and support needs.
